Random Stuff

I'm just going to use this page to jot down weird, random things that struck me as funny, interesting, or just worth jotting down for any random reason.

I have a tendency, as I'm writing, to skip ahead from one word to the next word (or to a word several words away in the planned sentence), ending up combining them, because my brain somehow got ahead of my fingers.

Today that happened in the sentence "As long as you keep out of my way, fine."  This led it to read "As long as you keep out of my wine."

This struck me as hilarious.  (I may not have gotten much sleep last night, tbh, so that may have something to do with me being particularly easy to amuse today.)

I thought I could also use this page to share some of the random screencaps I've made of my writing progress.  Specifically, I have a comment I left on a bizarre mischosen word in an earlier draft of "A Hidden Road" and a bunch of palindrome and other notable word count numbers on the current fic.  Which I kept just sorta because, I guess?

I like that the last one there is a double palindrome--the word count is a palindrome, but the page count is also. 😁  Although all this talk of palindromes makes me wonder why the word palindrome is not a palindrome...  🤔

Additionally, why don't I link from here to the page filled with dumb attempts at stringing multiple homophones (or almost-homophones) into a single sentence, rather than giving that page its own link on the main menu?

Yup, that sounds like a plan.  That page is right here.

Here's another fun one.  You know how people sometimes talk about an author making a character into a mouthpiece for them?

In this case, I literally just typed my own thoughts in the middle of what I was doing, because I realized I had been so eager to get back to writing the scene that I had forgotten to turn on the timer again after flipping my lunch over.  😅  (Thankfully, it wasn't burned, because I set the timer to the same time so often that I think I'm developing an internal timer...)
